One morning you head out for scheduled maintenance on an overhead crane, the next day an industrial installation urgently needs to be back up and running. Our technicians perform maintenance, inspections, repairs, and overhauls on industrial installations, overhead cranes and harbor cranes in Belgium.
And what happens if something unexpected pops up on-site or an urgent call comes in at 4:30 PM? Time to shadow our technicians.

How the workday begins depends primarily on where the job is located. Our technicians have their own van with their equipment and can therefore head directly to a site. For larger projects, a truck or a fully equipped container may also be on-site.
Before the real work begins, the team reviews what needs to be done that day. Who is taking on which task? What equipment is needed? Are there any specific points of attention? Where necessary, work permits are arranged and the machine is secured.
And somewhere between arriving, setting up equipment, and reviewing the schedule, there is usually time for coffee.
What seems like a clear assignment on paper can change the moment a technician sees the installation. During a repair, for example, it may turn out that the damage is greater than initially thought, or an inspection may reveal a problem that wasn't visible before.
At such moments, a technician needs to be able to assess the situation themselves. That is why our team is given the freedom to use their technical knowledge and experience, without having to call the office for every decision.
Is further consultation needed? Then we coordinate with colleagues or supervisors. Especially with critical tasks, the right people are involved before work continues. This ensures there is room to work independently on-site, while ensuring that important technical decisions are never made lightly.

A defect in an industrial installation rarely respects office hours. If an urgent call comes in at the end of the workday, we look at who is available and can get on-site the fastest.
During such a technical intervention, the work begins by identifying exactly where the problem lies. Sometimes the cause is found quickly and the repair can be carried out immediately. In other cases, it requires more investigation and we may continue working until the installation is operational again .
For companies that depend on their machinery, downtime can have a major impact. That is why being able to act quickly is an important part of our service. It’s not just about the technician being ready; the right equipment and necessary support must also be arranged quickly.
Aerts Electro Mechanics works on a wide range of industrial installations, including harbor cranes and overhead cranes. But even within a single installation, the task can vary significantly.
During an inspection, our technicians check the installation and identify potential issues. Preventive maintenance helps to address wear and defects in a timely manner. If something has gone wrong, then during a repair we first look for the root cause of the problem. With an overhaul , an installation or component is addressed more thoroughly to ensure it functions reliably again.
So, one day the focus is on checking and measuring, while the next day a defect must be tracked down and resolved. It is precisely this combination of electromechanics, mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting that means our technicians encounter a wide variety of technical challenges.
Does your company need support with the maintenance, inspection, repair, or overhaul of an industrial installation, overhead crane, or harbor crane?
Does this sound like a workday that suits you? At Aerts Electro Mechanics, we are always looking for technical talent who enjoy rolling up their sleeves, working independently, and love variety.
