We recently carried out extensive repairs to a mobile dock crane at Stukwerkers in Ghent. The customer had noticed unusual noises coming from the hinges to the boom, and unusual noises are always a cue to take action.
The action we took:
During the repairs, we noticed additional play on the upper boom sheaves. Since the hoist cables had already been taken out, we recommended replacing these at the same time. An efficient decision that avoided trouble – and more downtime – later on.
