New power supply for a bridge crane at Heidelberg Materials Benelux

A bridge crane with nearly fifty years of service behind it was given a new lease of life in August 2025. Due to power losses on several of the rails, the bridge crane was getting steadily more unreliable.

Our solution?

  • Completely replaced the Vahle U30 conductor system (4× 48 m)
  • Replaced all cabling between the bridge crane and the conductor system
  • Completed during a schedule ddowntime: smooth and according to plan
The result: a 6-tonner with the same performance and reliability as when it was first put into service in 1974.
